The Intellectual Property Academy (IPA) serves as the training operator for the Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation (MyIPO). As a centre of excellence, IPA is dedicated to enhancing human capital capacity in fostering knowledge and expertise in the field of intellectual property.
IPA's role encompasses the planning, developing, coordinating and implementing training programs and courses pertaining to intellectual property. These programs cover all aspects of intellectual property, ranging from basic to technical levels, and are tailored to meet the specific needs of target groups as well as the general public.
Additionally, IPA operates as a repository platform, gathering and storing reference materials related to intellectual property. The MyIPO Resource Centre offers a diverse collection of intellectual property books, journals, magazines, and other publications, both local and international, which are accessible to visitors.
The establishment of IPA plays a crucial role in strengthening the intellectual property community by increasing awareness through education and learning. This initiative further contributes to the enhancement of the intellectual property ecosystem in Malaysia. Through the implementation of IPA programs, MyIPO aims to encourage creators, entrepreneurs, artists, and others to create, own, protect, utilize, and commercialise their intangible assets, towards fostering more sustainable economy.
